not too many guys in the states know much about that engine and those turbos. the australian contingency is who you'll need to talk to. there aare a few ozzies on here.

Never laid eyes on one in person. Closest has been a couple of 1HZ, no turbos though. Ih8mud.com has an internation and diesel section. You might ask there.

the biggest durability factor will be how you drive the truck, how its serviced and how high the fuel is set. An upgraded rad. and an intercooler would be a good start

well here in Costa Rica there are a lost of HZ1 but the best advice is not pot in turbos to a non turbo diesel engines, however i heard a guy here that is using a HZ1 with ct26 turbo from toyota and has been working fine for more then 50000km
