I got this one last year at the SF 250 race. It was a great spot to witness this most death-defying scenario in all of off road spectating. Sure enough a TT hit one guy and down he went. Not sure what happened to him. I recomend doing this at least once in your life. Wild stuff!

I built the entire truck by myself. the front is running 4wd spindles so you get the better brakes and everything. 6 over arms, 1.5" uniballs, 7/8" heims for upper pivots and outer tierod steering ends with 3/4 in inners. Custom centerlink and lidler arm. 2.0x12in stroke SAW coilover and a 3.0x12in SAW tripple bypass on each corner. Cylces 21in of travel but limited to 19. 35" tires. 4.3L v6 700r4 tranny, trying to get a T100 rear for it, but for the back it has 63in chevy's and 16in 2.5 SAW bypasses. Got about a month and a half into the front end build, motor swap, cage ect.. Just needs to be finished up. Here are a few more pics.

what happens if you blow the motor, there are no removable motor cage parts?

the motor comes in and out easily. You just remove the starter and exhaust and it lifts right out,e ven with the tranny bolted up. There's aout 2-3in of room between the bars and the engine when it's coming out.

for tranny mount I'm using the stock one on the tranny than modified the stock crossmember/mount and boxed it in. Motor mounts are autofab bushings and modified stock clamsheel style mounts. Here are some pics

Looks a lot like my VORRA short course truck but just nicer :D. I plan on putting the 4Wd spindles up front too but haven't really thought much about it. Would love to see what you did and steal some ideas.

Not critiquing your work at all but i was wondering why in the last pic ( one of the inside of the cab ) the tubes that will most likely support the shifter does not center up with the verticle support bars? Was something in the way or was more leg room needed?

The e-brake was in the way and I needed more leg room, since I removed a lot of the firewall and pushed it in I had t move the pedals over. Here's a pic of the spindle.

IIRC, this incident, the driver in the yellow car, Sam Berri caught a rock on the visor of his helmet. Can't remember was the visor was made of, but it was pretty thick and tough. The rock dented the visor.

I remember that pilup at the start. I think you can actually see me stading in an orange vest in those pics. Too wide and the start narrowed too fast. Thankfully Rick fixed that problem when we re-did the track last winter. (or was it two winters ago??)

I also remember when that class 10 or sportsman caught fire, he came flying in right to where I was parked on the track. Luckily I'd got a fire extinguisher ready a few minutes before hand cause he was REALLY FAWKIN ON FIRE!!!!
Wish the Moss brothers would come out more often.

Haha! Just looked closer and my truck is actually in that pic, white hood directly to the right of the Yellow Jeep truck. That was probably the last race she ever saw... :'(

Here's a shot from quite a few years ago when we raced full time. My brother still races MDR with it every now and then.

did back injuries cause you to stop racing full time? :laughing: seriously though, how does it ride?

i'd love to see that at an MDR race, props to you guys for racing a scout i think its cool as hell.

I shit you not there were times where I thought my heart was going to dislodge from my body cavity:eek:.

But in all seriousness it really doesn't ride all that bad. We competed full time for about 5 years(2 years La Rana, 3 years MDR) and won our class for a couple of those years with the other years coming in second behind Curry. That truck is still ready to race and probably will be raced at least once this year. Now with the price of gas and a familiy to support it isn't as affordable as it use to be hence why we don't race much anymore. My bro does have plans to redo the suspension in the near future. I said I would unretire if he did:smokin:.

LDC last weekend. Didn't have much time to shoot at all due to having a vendor booth but managed to pop off a few. I'll post up the rest after I go through them.
