67-87 Chevy Long Travel Front End

I thought I would post up pics and info of one of the greatest suspension options for people with the 67-87 Chevy solid axle trucks. This suspension allows you to retain your solid axle and still keep it 4x4 and still have great suspension travel.

The kit is from Blitzkrieg Motorsports. Fits all 67-87 front axles. Here are the specs:

- 12-16” of travel while keeping functional four wheel drive
- No bumpsteer
- .250 wall steering links and track bar
- 1-1/4” Heim joint radius arms
- King Dual rate coilovers and 2.5 bumps
- Limit straps, new steering box, modified pitman arm are all included

Blitzkrieg will install the kit for $6500 on your truck or you can purchase the kit for less(not sure as I haven't fully aquired on it yet).

I know the chevy guys have been using Ford's I beam setup on their 2wd race rigs for years, but now taking our radius arm SFA setup as well? :flipoff2:

Haha, in all seriousness, that setup looks real good. I'm going to do something real similar to the front of my '79 F-150 when I get the extra coin. Ideally I would like to go with a 3-link, but class 8 rules state that it must be a 'stock type configuration' on the front suspension so I'm stuck with rad. arms. I'd be interested to know what rate coils they are using?

yeah ive seen this setup. in 1960 when for put it on there 4wd trucks. all you have added now is coilovers. i have the same setup on my ranger and it only cost me 1200. for the kings and the jonny joints.

I think the rules must have changed on that cause I'm looking at the 2006-2010 score rulebook and the suspension limits for class 8 are stock wheelbase +or- 2 inches and the tires must retract inside the wheelwells?

For some reason, it seems to me all of the desert stuff is $$$$.

Might have something to do with all of the flat-billers that swear by 4130 for everything, including seat mounts and grab-bars so they can brag about how much it cost.

Thus a $150 trailing arm becomes $1500. :D
