any parts houses that carry odd/unusual seals and bearings? im looking for axle seals for an amc 20, with 1 piece durablue axles. durablue doesnt have a clue. things are looking pretty bad; the idea of haviing to buy new shafts isnt good at all, just because i couldnt find a couple seals.

try brown bearing in seattle ,,, or look on the web for bearing houses,,,,, If that does not work Email me off line with the part # you need or the size? you might have to use one with the right ID and make a sleave for a smaller od.... life is not over yett.... if all else failes go with the old leather type ,,, they work good and you can use them on a smaller or larger shaft than there made for.

Most seals have a part number on them. It's molded into the edge. If it's readable NAPA and even Auto Zone can cross refference the seal. Bearings are the same way.

As others have said, it should have a number on it. IF you can read it, post the number, AND take some measurments. Seal ID (shaft od at the seal surface) seal OD ( housing ID at the seal surface) I have a host of seal catalogs to look up and or cross ref PN's.. I'd be willing to give it a shot if you can provide that info.

Just to tag in on this thread, I need to get the output shaft seals for a Dana 20 t-case. I know there are 2 different seals w/ different ID's. Does anyone know what the seal #'s are? I'm willing to buy both sizes so I don't have to stop swapping parts when I pull the trans/t-case on the Heep.
edit: Also the input shaft seal # would be nice!
TIA!

alomg the same lines, how about front anr rear drums and bearings and seals for a set of m-715 60 front/70 rear.
remember, these have small tubes and REALLY awkward bolt patterns.....

Second the kaman-industries recommendation. They don't know squat about automotive applications, but If you know all the dimensions (ID, OD, etc) they can fix you up.

I've found seals that the local Auto Zone meatheads said that they didnt have just by simply taking my reference seal, and walking in back (with permission) and rifling through their boxes of crap until I found the right one.
If you cant get something done right....
