: Radius Arm Idea

Just doing a little brainstorming.....


Anybody ever seen radius arms kinda like that?

Check out the suspension on a range rover. If I remember correctly, they attach to the axle kinda like that. I don't think they kick up that high though.

no, but that is a neat idea! I'm brainstorming now! the arms will still have to move when the distance between the arm gets smaller when it twists up, so you will still have to have the arms move right to left and up and down. Soooo.. the only thing that you would get from that idea is that the arms don't have to twist. may be helpful with a helm joint if it maxes out, only if the arm is straight and not arched because the bent arm will allow the effective length of the arm to change when it turns on the helm. Blah blah blah.. I think it will make it too complicated. Dump the idea!

Tim you and i have been thinking along the same lines. I've been working on my new radius arms and they have the ability to pivot up and down along with the ability to rotate 180 degrees. I'll see if i can get some pictures of them tomarrow if oilburner will post them for me.
