I have a 30' GN flatbed trailer with 4 5200lb axles. It got struck by lightning while i was loading hay. Since then i have only been using around my farm. With im gonna be moving a lot of firewood and hay this winter so it needs to brakes, lights, and some work. All the wires got fried so the brakes haven't been working in a coulpe years. At this point it think that getting new axles would be better b/c having 4 axles is eats tires and i would like to get hydraulic brakes. I have seen dexter 10k single tire axles on some take 3 wedge trailers. So the question 1 is does Dexter sell their single tire 10k axles. Question 2 which would be better 2 10k axles or 3 7K axles.

Dad has a 28' gooseneck with tandem dual axles. Tows nice, little tire scrub in turns, and no bearing problems. The only itty bitty problem is that it's a deck over trailer, which might be an issue for some folks.

If I'm going that heavy, I'd rather get 8 tires under the load than 6.

I agree, tandem dually is better in every sense. We have a 26' tandem dually gooseneck and its been used hard for about six years now, still on the original set of tires with very little wear.

I forgot to say that i can' run duals b/c the frame is extra wide, even though its a deckover there is only enough room for one row of tires. So it would be 4tires vs 6 if i can even find the wide 10k dexters.
