HE NEEDS MISC. THINGS IN THE BED FOR THE WHOLE TRIP.

SSSRodeo 10-21-2006, 08:36 AM Chris,
I'm assuming your Dad will be coming through North Central Texas.
I have a Isuzu 4WD transmission I picked up in North Carolina for a guy in SLC.
It's in one of my plastic shipping cases that's about 4' by 2' by 2'. So it will be an easy clean package.
I told Troy I'd pick it up ion N.C. and next time I went to Moab he could come and get it. Well, I haven't been back to Moab in over a year. He sure needs this tranny. So, let's see if we can work this out for him. I've sent him an E mail to check in here.
Gotta make sure he has the gas money. :D
I live just off of HWY 287 between Fort Worth and Decatur. So if your Dad comes through I 20 from Mississippi I can meet him up this way and make the drop off. Hwy 287 is the natural route from Fort Worth to Amarillo. Which is the hub for Denver or Northern New Mexico.
Anyway, enough of this rambling. I'll PM you my cell #.

SSSRodeo 10-22-2006, 10:02 PM Talked to your Dad this morning and were set. He'll be coming closer to my place on the return trip so we're good there. I talked to Troy in Utah a few minutes ago and he'll be ready on the recieving end.
Great Deal.

EMIEVEL 10-23-2006, 01:46 PM Thanks Curtis...sorry I didn't get back to you myself, but I'm just real busy and my dad has nothing else to do all day but drive, so he can make the calls! He had a blow-out in Dallas so he might be running late. It was a bad one and it took out the dually fender. That was the only Firestone on the truck. I had another Firestone take out the right front fender a year ago, so my truck is starting to look beat. :(
SSSRodeo 10-23-2006, 04:45 PM I talked to your Dad about an hour ago and he was just leaving Jackson Mississippi. He was telling me about the blow out. I'm going to leave him a message here in a minute to tell him how to cut out some of the worst roads and slide up here to Rhome real easy. Should see his about 10:30 tonight, if he doesn't have another blowout :)

EMIEVEL 10-23-2006, 04:52 PM When you see that truck, tell me if it looks like it has 325,000 miles on it! Well, now after the second blow-out, it might. The driver's side should still look good!
SSSRodeo 10-24-2006, 05:20 AM When you see that truck, tell me if it looks like it has 325,000 miles on it! Well, now after the second blow-out, it might. The driver's side should still look good!
The fender damage is hard to notice. Course if you ever lose that dually fender it'll show BIG TIME. All the damage is on the metal body underneath.
We loaded the tranny last night about miidnight. He spent the night in the guest house and will get rolling again after he get his shower.
We had a high speed "get to know each other" last night. Ha!
Your Dad is a lot like me. We could have talked all night.
Let's pray for a safe trip, and we'll be keeping in touch.
He and I know people who know each other. What a small world.
Gotta run,

EMIEVEL 10-24-2006, 10:49 AM Thanks Curtis, my dad said nice things about you and he really appreciated the bed ans shower.
I already bought a new dually bed and we are going to replace it on Saturday! I found a 1999 white bed with everything on it, including the tailgate! Better yet, it was removed the first day the guy owned the truck, so it still looks like new. The bed that's on there it breaking from that big fuel tank anyway.
SSSRodeo 10-24-2006, 04:51 PM The plan came together without a hitch for me.
I got to get the transmission out of my shop, my concience cleared because my bud Troy really needed it, and I made a great friend.
I'm serious, If he wasn't so tired and we had more time to visit, we'd have talked all night. Our lives were strangly parrallel. And I thought I was unique!
He knows he has a place to stay anytime he comes this way again.
And you too Chris.
Seriously, you would have cracked up and we shared and compared, talking at Mach III. We were talking so fast the entire neighborhoods dogs were barking.
I've got his EMAIL and we'll be keeping in touch.
Thanks for posting up the trip. What a great deal.
