Thousand of dollars plus in spare parts, including 3 sets of hubs and good Dana 20 transfer case, starter, hoses, carb, filters, belts, u-joints, fuel pump, coil, solenoids, winch remote, spare winch motor, seal kits, all 4 new spare leaf springs. Parts bill for Warn upgrade parts alone is $6000. $2250 in wheels and tires. Windshield is 3 month old.
Good solid CJ, well built and nearly bullet proof. Every moving part on the CJ has been gone through and rebuilt or replaced, with the exception of the motor internals-and it is in VGC. Very capable. Clear Idaho title, and passes smog easily. Everything works, except the backup lights. Front fenders are cut like flat fenders. RF fender has minor wrinkle in it, you have to look hard to see it. There is a small metal patch above the right rear flare that is pop riveted on and painted-I assume it covers a small rust hole-typical spot. Few scratches in the paint-typical trail rig. Soft top has a few years on it and is not perfect but will keep you warm and dry. Could leave on the electric OBA system for extra $. (Would add $300 to cost-compressor alone new was $475) This is not a show Jeep-but looks good, and will handle any trail reliably. It does extremely well in snow and mud. I would fill the tank and drive the Rubicon with it tomorrow. Well over $11k invested. Every fluid/oil flushed and replaced in last month; all hubs serviced.
Starter and alternator, front and rear brakes, winch motor, master cyl, and booster, seats, and battery are 3 months old.
Only leak is from the rear main seal which I have had replaced twice, drips 2-3 drops after you park it in garage; sometimes it will and sometimes it won't-but never more than 3 drops. Front driveshaft has wear in splines-not noticable in low range, may hear some noise in high range 4wd. Local driveshaft shop says run it and forget about it.
Jeep is set up for 35's as it sets, bumpstops and all-I prefer the 33's ride.
Flat tows great and simply with the full float rear axle-unlock the hubs and hook up the tow bar.
Honestly turn key trail ready.
$8400 OBO. May consider trade/partial for XJ/WJ/ZJ or ext/cab Toy/4Runner that is mildly built and valued similar; MUST BE a reliable/capable DD/trail and street legal.
Looking for something easier for this old man to get in/out of. A/C highly desired. Not looking for a project.
