I just got done installing a set of Earls stainless steel braided brake hoses on my 65 Chevy. The truck has 3/4 ton D44 and a FF 14 bolt with drums. It also has no power boost just manual brakes. It stopped alright before but the lines were due so I replaced them with the stainless hoses. Anyway this is awesome. The pedal is like rock now, no sponge in it at all. Also a 4 wheel skid down the road is only a stab of the brake pedal away. I'm sure that I will be more confident at the top of a big hill offroad as well. Anyway I just posted to let anyone who might be considering these lines to do it. They are only a few bucks more than stock lines and they work twice as good. Later!

CARRY SPARES!

Yeah.. those lines are nice. but a lot weaker than the rubber lines. specially at the fittings.

Weaker? Do you mean like they spring a leak suddenly or do you mean like snapping off when caught on a branch? Thanks for the warning though! Shouldn't be a problem if they just snap off easier. The local mall keeps the parking lot pretty much free of debris :flipoff2:

One of my Earl's SS lines sheathing split exposing the sharp strands and the inside ballooned out, not good
