I have a chance to get a set of 36x15 Dick Cepek Quite Giants. Of course I have no idea what they are. I can not find any pics of them anywhere on the net, or searching local tire shops. I assume they are an old tire. They guy that has them had them on a show truck they have been garage kept. 150$ for all 4. Anybody got any idea what kinda tread is on these things? Got any old pics? They are an hour away from my house and I have been told they are semi-aggresive tread???? But as far as tread that is reallly a matter of opinion. Help this deal wil not last too long.

yea, those are pretty old school... I faintly remember them 8 or 10 years ago. If I remember correctly, they're just a big all-terrain lookin tire.

yeah ,,old school i remember them, nice tires for the street show type trucks, or really nice if you daily drive and use them on road.
i dont have pics, they are in some older off road rags though. kinda like the coyote tire. more of a all season than all terrain, rounded corners, and not big lugs.
i would say get them for street use and have the swamps for the trail.

I don't think you'd call mine a show truck. :-)

They are great in snow. They do hook up in the rocks, but don't give you the traction that Swampers do. "Not good" in mud. They do have really good manners on the street.

Ryeguy, you have fun countrys, Right? The quiet giant is a compeltely different tread pattern.... I THINK!!!

I saw an FJ-40 on them once. About 5 years back. Looked sorta like a Sport King, if I recall correctly...

Okay, my mistake, I've heard the Fun Countries called Quiet Giants as a nick-name.

that size tire, in good condition, 4 for $150 - I would call you stupid for NOT buying them :p

The tread on a Quite Giant makes a BFG A/T look like a Bogger. They are pure street tires with ablolutely no use off road except maybe on slick rock where you need more rubber than lug.

They look like a car tire on steriods. Street only tread. They would be great for a dd like RHINO said. I would not pay $150 for the. It may be worth the 1hr drive to look at them and see if he will come down in price but I don't think there worth the $$$. You could always use them as spares. Any tire with tread is worth that.

I think I will go have a look on Monday. What the hell. I will probably bring them home. Run them all week and then switch them when its time to play.
