i bought a 6 inch lift for my old 1 ton 4x4 awhile back and never used it. Now i have the crew cab and decided to install it on the crew cab. The rear u bolts are rounded and the rear on the truck are square and have the threaded ends pointing down. i want to use the new u bolts and turn the ubolts where the threaded end points up. Less to drag on. i have the plates and everything that go on top the springs for the ubolts to go thru. Any reason I could not do it . Any safety issues i dont know about.

As long as you have the correct top style spring plates, do it. Just inspect the tubes where the old plate were to see if they are too rusty. Believe it or not, I bought an axle once with the tube style plates, and the tubes were so rusty from crap collecting in the plates that I decided to find a different housing. I should have poked the rot with a screwdriver before I bought it. I mean they were BAD (rusted almost 1/4" into the tube in a couple spots)! Such is life in the land of salt... Those style plates suck.
