Dropped the rear bumper on the terra today so I'd have room to work behind it. 3 of the 4 mounting holes are cracking out. Any suggestions on how to fix it? i'm thinking about taking some 3"x1/8" angle and running it along the inside of the rail. sound good? any tips??

If it was just a bumper, I'd go for it, but those are also the holes to mount a tow hitch, which I need. I really don't want my trailer seperating from me in the middle of montanta

nah just kidding :flipoff2:

I think you have the right idea though, just slap some angle iron up there, and use it for reinforcement.

I would probably weld it in place to prevent moisture from getting trapped in between.....but that's just me :D

Welding it up was alway part of the plan.:flipoff2:

I'd be lost w/o my welder.

Step 1 - grind and weld cracks.

Step 2 - buy box tubing that'll just fit inside the rear frame.

Step 3- paint, paint, paint.. then slide box tubing inside frame until you hit "the bend"

Step 4 - drill out box tubing to match existing factory holes.

Step 5 - add more holes to help secure the box tubing

Step 6, build new rear bumper based off of the sleeves inside the frame.

If it comes off, it's taking the back half with it..

Sure, no problem.

Get in line.. the material for my bumpers is still sitting in my shed. Don't really need 'em now.. the damage has been done. :D
