I am thinking of changing the springs on the old YJ from Pro Comp 4" to some BDS springs for ride quality. I'm tired of hitting the roll bar on every pebble in the road! I'm looking for suggestions on other types of springs used or your opinions of BDS springs from 1st hand knowledge.

OK, I used BDS 2" Wranglers for my SOA on my CJ. You can't beat the ride, but I wrapped the rears like mad. I went thru 3 sets before finally installing a full length add-a-leaf and shortie stock Wrangler leaf on the bottom of the pack. I also have a wrap bar to help control the axle. The fronts have been awesome, flex like crazy and ride very well. I gave up a little in the rear as far as flex and ride quality, but have not wrapped them (3 trips now). Now that they're broken in fairly well, the rears aren't as bad.

You can't beat the BDS warranty and if you set them up right from the start, they are good springs.

In SUA form they hold up better then most, give a nice controlled ride, and flex very well compared to others. THis is first hand

Go out and buy the RE 4.5 extreme duty. Take a couple of leaves out of it and add in some of your other ones. If you play with if enough youll get what your looking for. This is what i did and i absolutly lot it, soft ass ride on the road and flexs like MAD!!!!! <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0">

Thats an awlful lot of work and $$$$$$, I say if your gonna stick with SUA don't expect to much and get spme BDS springs they flex enough to get you over the hardest of trails, you just have to admit SUA doesnt have the cool factor of SOA. Basicly if you want an effective simple suspension that works, get some BDS springs (or if you got to much money get RE extreme duty) If you want alot of flex go Spring Over and don't goof around with trying to get flex cause it will come naturaly

and while you are doing a SOA you can swap out the axles, gears and throw a locker in it too! <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0">

I have BDS Wrangler 3.5" 5 leaf front packs all the way around but have yet to wheel them. If you want to save some money open up the spring clamps.
