Yes yes newbie I know......

I just went to dual cases so am using the CV from the front in the rear, I knew it was worn and time to spruce it up.

What I am wondering is if anyone knows of a write up on the net on how to rebuild a CV (double cardan) joint from a Toyota front driveshaft.

Also I got "rebuild kit" from the parts store, its got a little ball thingy and snaps rings and stuff in it. I haven't looked at it really close yet. Is there anything else I will need, u-joints or anything?
I plan to replace the regular u-joint as well.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks Jess
Dang. Not the nest of news.

I think I'll try to fix it anyway. IFS shafts are hard to come by and are $$ here. Perhaps i'll fix this one to use till I can find an IFS shaft and then use it for a spare.

Can I clearance an IFS shaft myself?
There is no "real" custom driveline shops here. Shops will build a shaft to stock specs with stock parts.

Hey Jess

Can you tell/explain to me how to clearance the IFS CV??
Do I just need to dremel the corners out some to let it "bend" more where the u-joint hits?

Thanks for your help
