Looking at TJ's......
Is there any easy way to spot ones that came from factory with the rear D44? Some sort of designation in doorjam, some option group they came with, anything aside from pulling diff cover and reading the tag? What years were they offered in?
So many 4sale tj's in my area are at dealers. I really would like to be able to tell fairly quick so that if they are not so equipped, I can GTF outta there before I get caught in the crossfire of the sales goons.:jester:
Thanks in advance......
RJ
get down on your hands and knees and take a look. it only takes 5 xeconds

Yeh..... OK
Well...... what to look for? I'm not familiar with the smaller danas. I've only ever owned rovers and landcruisers. The one cherokee I did own I only looked at the d35 (?) long enough to yank it off the springs and strap up a d60. But hell, that was 12 years ago. I haven't really had to worry about axles much since then.

and not to mention stock tjs you cant see the diff with the gas tank that low
a regular d44 cover does NOT look like the d44 cover for TJ rears anyway so that wont help, options tag probly
if you get down on your hands and knees you can see the d44, the gas tank is not that low. as for it not looking like a d44, what are you smoking, do a search and you will find out what they look like. im not trying to be a dick its just getting down and looking is the best and quickest way. id post the pics for yah but i dont have them
