He is asking $1500 is it worth it?

As long as it runs good, $1500 for a ¾ ton 4x4 truck sounds like a good deal to me. Where exactly, and how bad is the oil leaking?

The back of the motor pretty bad. Are there any sending units on the back of these motors that could leak? He thaught it might be the valve covers so he baught a nice set of heavy cast ones and didnt fix it.

Only way i know to tell, is to clean the motor real good, then watch to see where the oil comes from.. i know i had an aftermarket oil press. gauge and it had a plastic hose that leaked. solved the problem.. or is it comming from inbetween the engine and the tranny.. that would be a rear main seal, or it could be the oil pan. But does it run and drive strong? That should be what really matters, and at $1500 I think thats a deal.. looks good enough to me.. in my book, that looks like a $2000-2500 truck.. and also realize that these trucks are ugly, but at least they leak.. or at least thats what I used to tell people when they tried to make fun of my old dodge. I know once I spring a leak.. and took it into my mechanic, and he told me that the head gasket blew.. well... i cleaned the engine and sure engough the head gasket was fine.. tranny fluid was sprayin from the tranny line (what a moron). $90 later i had custom bent lines installed and i was on my way.. but it could be a head gasket.. though i doubt it.. and even if it was, i would still buy the truck. Then keep one weekend free, buy the $80 seal kit, and install all new top end seals. But it doesent sound like that.. I say get it.. looks good to me.. oh, just make sure that the floors arent rusted, mine were gone BAD... also my uncle (who is a pro-mopar resto guy) told me that the back rear corners rust out from the in inside out.. while that doesnet happen too much here in cali.. check it anyway... good luck man.. looks nice

and just to make sure you know, that is a 75 grille.. not a 77... so you may want to see why it was replaced... accedent maybe?

I might be wrong on the year. It runs great everything works and is rust free. The paint is ok just oxidized, rubbed out I think it would look pretty good. I will look at the back of the motor myself and see if it is a simle fix, I was thinking along the lines of an oil sensor myself but I dont know squat about Mopar stuff. The reason I asked is this guy is a friend of a friend and I told him I would help him sell it. He only wants $1500 for it so I just wanted some feedback to see if the price is on target. Anyone interested? :D Well thanks for the input I am going to put it in the paper for $1800 obo and go from there. I think he said he would go as low as $1200 if anyone is interested.

it's prob. a 76-78 most likely a 78. It sould say on the door jam. Prob worth about 2k here in Michigan it would depend on miles.

I have a Q, are those locking front hubs on there? and if so, are they drum breaks?

As for the year of that truck, if the front end is original it would be between a 72 and a 76. A 77 is different and a 78 is the same as a 77 and then 79 and 80 there were two different styles.
