what do you run on your v-8? 2 or 3 chamber flows?
any other brands that are good and cheap and relativly quiet yet provide a good rouble when stomping on it. im stumped on what to buy, want to stay in the 2- 2.5 inch range! jiMMy

If you buy a flowmaster 50% of what your paying is for a ad in every freaking car magazine in print. There are a ton of muffs that out flow them and cost 50% less. Dynomax beats FM on every muff shootout I've ever seen and there a freaking bargain!

Don't be a poseur, buy a muff for the power it makes not the kind of noise it makes!:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

hey if we are talking about muffs why do i want one that flows more? my experiance says tighter is better. :flipoff2:

i liked my el cheapo glass pack more than my new 3 chamber flowmaster.

Dynomax or Magnaflow straight though design. They are very similar. Good bang for the buck, nice sound but not obnoxious.

the Dynomax welded race series mufflers would me my choice. they are fairly quiet at idle but sound great at WOT and they are only $59 each from Summit. (PN, WLK-17219)

id rather run the flowmaster than the dynomax. i have run both and ill spend the extra money on a flowmaster. i was not impressed with the dynomax at all. maybe im a poser and im hung up on the noise, but i doubt there is much hp diff between the mufflers

I like flows. We have had 3 cambers on a 350 suburben loved the sound at wot. And we also have them on a 79 f-250 with a 460 and it sounds good, only loud when you get up and go rest of time its pretty nice.

i agree. i have had flowmasters and i got rid of them for a set of glass packs. on the trail i could care less that they are louder. the main reason a switched is they do not take up much space. i can tuck the glass packs up nice and high between the frame rails to prevent damage. and they leave plenty of room for other stuff like oba tanks, anti-wrap bars, links, etc.

I'd definitely go with a 3 chamber if you're going to use flowmasters. It is quieter than a 2 chamber and has a throaty sound when you get on it. It all comes down to personal preference based on cost and sound quality.

You can go with a pair of two-chamber Flowmaster 40 series and still keep it quiet if you add a crossover. That's what I've got. you can't hear it at idle unless you're standing behind it, and she really growls when you get on it without the obnoxious "blat blat blat" sound you get from glasspacks.

IMHO, FWIW and all that happy shit...

Marco Muffler in Sac. They rock and are fair priced. As for the mufflers, I say go single exhaust witha 3" setup. Why go dual when the 3" gives better backpressure, which wil give you some better torque.

Check ebay! You can find all kinds of GREAT deals there! My fiance bought me two dyno's off it for $50. They are brand new! 2-1/2". There are deals on there all the time. You don't have to pay the high price of the stores to get them.

I have a flowmaster on one and the dyno is supposed to go on the other. Someday I will get that done.
