IMBA needs an inventory of all the trails in CA to help fight Boxer's land grab, guised as the "wilderness plan"

it's like the second or third article down, but check them all out while you're there....

Speaking of IMBA, I read they supported the Roadless Initiative thinking it would make for more trails for mtn bikes. YellowSub, any insight as an access extremist?

Mountain bike guys,

Please join in and help out with the Public Land Protest Rally (http://www.crowley-offroad.com/protest_rally.htm). Wilderness Area designation excludes mountain bikes too.

You can bring your bike to any of the rally's in Sacramento, LA, San Diego, San Bernardino, Fresno.

And sign the online petition (http://www.petitiononline.com/boxer/petition.html) to oppose Boxer's bill.

You want my opinion on the IMBA...

Great organization that brings lots of Mountain Bikers together and promotes good trail manners. They have been instrumental in keeping some trails open for mountain bikes...

They have also been instrumental in closing trails...such as with the Roadless issue you mentioned. They backed it, with the clause that only mountain bike trails would be kept open, while they would support closing roads and motorcycle trails... They are also IN FAVOR of the NEW WILDERNESS AREAS AND ARE BACKING BOXER - but they had her modify a few areas to keep mountain bike trails open in exchance for their support...

SO if you want to join a seperatist, elitist, group that thinks they are better than everyone else, and wants everything open for their sport but noone else's, join the IMBA....If you support access for everyone, tell the IMBA TO FUCK OFF and SUPPORT the BLUE RIBBON Coalition...

I'm an avid mountain biker, and trail user. In My opinion the IMBA is getting close to the sierra club in their political action and philosiphies... Land should be availible to them and noone else.... Just as the SC feels land should be open to hikers and no one else...

I do not normally bash ANY group involved in any form of outdoor recreation, but I feel this is the biggest kick in the nuts IMBA could give the entire multiple use community...

That's pretty much what I was thinking, was just wondering if anyone else felt the same way or if I was off-base. Thanx!
