My step dad had built this WICKED caddy 500, when he took it out for a test run he threw a rod  He decided he's must be getting a old and is just gonna build cars that look hot. He's gonna give me whatever I want from the engine. Obviously the block and piston(s) are bad, but there's over $1000,00 worth of Performance Caddy parts.

The catch, he lives in Alamogordo NM, :(

The solution, SUMMER VACATION. Me and the family are heading down there end of this month. :bounce2: :bounce: :bounce2: :bounce:

This will bump my caddy drivetrain plans up from 5years away  to about 2.

I think I will get a BOP-TH400/D20 set-up out of a HEEP, then when I can afford it I will run a different TH400 with an atlas (THAT will be 3-4years away still)

Anyway I'm stoked and I thought I would share the good news!!!

What year is the motor? does it have the #950 casting heads? have the heads been machined to accept the larger springs? Aluminum intake? c'mon I want details!!!:flipoff2:

YES 950 HEADS!!! :bounce:

Larger springs...hmmm? It has Perf Valve springs from CMD (now known as Cad Company) :bounce:

Aluminum Intake?? OF COURSE!! Ported and polished!! :bounce:

Larger Swirl polished Stainless steel Intake & Exhaust valves.

I think they measure:

2.25 Int

1.90 Exh.

I think the heads are ported too :bounce:

And a pretty sweet cam too (not sure of the specs on that though) I'm sure it's hot though. He told me, that it's power band is from Idle to 3,800. EXACTLY what I wanted!! :bounce:

I can't use the crank, since my engine is a 472 (I thought it was a 500 but I found out differently) But that's not a big deal to me. I still need to check my head numbers to be sure.

That's all I know right now.

Oh wait, Single roller timing chain, with 3 "keyways"

That's all I can remember.:bounce: :bounce:

OH...PS: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

You know... the block *may not* be trashed.... you never know (unless he's already torn it apart and checked it out).

Then its just 1 new piston and 1 new rod....

:D :D :D :D

:D :D :D :D

I know, he hasn't torn it down yet. But there's NO WAY I can get the whole engine up here. Besides I already have a block (and everything else stock) here and I don't want to be haulin' antoher around.(heavy ass biatch)

I should get my block maganafluxed before I say anything for sure though. Oh well I'll take my chances.

Well everythings still looking good. Probably gonna rent a small U-haul trailer to bring it (plus some other junk) back. They Pick-n-pulls there are really cheap (price wise) so I might see what else I can bring back with me :D:D

Hell yeah, no reason to rent a 4'x6' trailer and only bring an engine back if I can afford to get more. My step dad keeps claiming that there's cool shit down there that I'd like for my rig, we'll see :D:D:beer:
