Greetings binder freaks, I am writing to get possible suggestions of what to do with my newest purchase. Its a 76(i think) traveller with a 345, tf 727 and d 20 i think, it was a buds of mine but he got a 1 ton chev and sold the IH to me. So far its got gm d 44 f and 12 bolt rear sprung over with stock springs. It looks the same as in the pics minus the tires and rollbar. I have a set of old ass 35x14 ground hawgs for it to roll around on until I got wheeling and then I will put my 36 sx's on it off of my toyota. Anyway just wanted to see if ya had any suggestions of what to/not to do or things to look for. Thanks for any and all suggestions, I feel like a newbie again.

Go full width front and rear, 38+, bob the back end and make it look good. 1/4 elliptic is best and allows you to take 18" off the back (or more). link both ends and call it good. You should be able to hang at Hollister with that.

Damian,

Did you even read his post? Maybe look at the pictures? :shaking::flipoff2:

Dude, just lock it up, throw a divorced 205 behind the d20, and wheel it, it'll do great!

Weld the rearend up and wheel the crap out of it the way it is till something breaks then up grade. Looks like you have a great starting point.

GM D 44 front and 12 bolt rear. Sounds like full size Blazer stuff to me.

grind the big lip off of your 14bolt and swap it for the 12bolt. the extra beef will help and the size of the pumpkins will make you want 38's or larger:D

I was thinkin this past w/e about dual cases after a bud of mine showed me a dodge divorced np 205 that he had I need to investigat more most definitely.......I am definitley gonna weld the rear up for now and cut up the fenders so that my 36 sx's off of my toyota will fit it w/o cuttin them up. I will post pix after I do it all. Thanks guys keep the suggestions comin,

You mean a 5000 dollar show quality paint job with some safety yellow accents wouldnt be cool?!?!? :D I thought yellow=speed=performance? If I do end up painting it I will utilize the flat grey background for a snow camo paint scheme, which will cost me about 25 bux in paint, a case of beer with a couple friends and a couple hours. Thanx fer da input.

Throw the 35's on, weld up the rear, lunch box locker up front, and Tera gears you're ready for just over a grand. Get it out find out what else needs work and start building.

Thanks man, I have done a coupel of snow camo jobs before and ure right its extremely hard to make it not look like a frickin gateway computer box. I am thinkin I am gonna do something similar to a cruiser I saw on here, it was kinda a girraffe lookin snow camo kinda deal. DOnt worry I will post pix when I start workin on it.

THanks for all the input guyz...anything else scout specific I should look for while doin this buildup?!?!?

Thats one of my junkyard removal tactics for movin that heavy hog around, seatbelts cut out of nearby cars help with the handling especially dragging it out from under the truck I got it from. Two people need all the help that they can get while tryin to manhandle that beast.
