I thought I'd share a recent experience I had. Last weekend was our 4x4 clubs yearly invitational. We invite 60 trucks plus all of our club rigs and we tour the Bohemia Mining area east of Cottage Grove. You can read more about this at www.ot4x4.org/forum
On Friday night I was leading a group of trucks up the Noonday and speared my truck. The tree was laying down horizontally pointing right at us and we just didn't see it. The log poked out my headlight embedding the steel from the headlight bucket in the wood. It kept going through/under my battery and then the metal on the end of the log cut my engine wiring harness. It cut 23 of the 27 wires in the harness. It went right on past my intake and through the firewall, through the dashboard and glanced off Allen's left arm. It then hit the back of the truck breaking the end off and then hitting my arm really hard and pinned my coat to the back of the truck. Finally the truck stopped moving forward and everything was dark. It took a while to get oriented again and figure out what had happened. We are lucky to be alive. We pulled the log out that night with a winch. The next morning Allen worked diligently to rewire the harness and we went up the hill to meet up with the rest of the group! Great weekend at the Jambo!
