drunkmarine 05-03-2002, 09:46 AM hey peoples, i just swapped in my 700r4 in my 76. i hooked up the tv cable to my edelbrock carb but i dont think its shifting into 4th gear properly. does anyone know how you adjust that or fix this problem? i think its staying in 3rd gear most of the time. CJ-Jeeper 05-03-2002, 05:22 PM On my '89 S10 the TV cable had an adjustment @ the bracket where the cable came out of the housing. I don't think you can adjust it to only affect the 3-4 shift. LT's TOY 05-03-2002, 09:15 PM my book says to adjust the cable all the way back to the stop while holding the throttle valve full open(a three handed job). I'll have to deal with this myself soon, as reassembly is nearly complete. BTW, watch that 1-2 shift while in low range...there's a piece in there called a reaction sun shell that wasn't designed to take much abuse...let us know if that adjustment works. What size tires and what gears are you running? drunkmarine 05-06-2002, 11:08 AM well gents thanx for the help. i got it to shift correctly and drove it to arkansas.. then the case cracked where it bolts to the t-case, damn bolts vibrated free or some thing. guess its back to the th350 for now.:( | |
