Can y'all recommend any options/best routes to get into offroad racing/rockcrawling competition?

I live on the east coast and am building my trial rig into more of a comp rig to compete some, but how would I get farther into desert racing? I think I am going to move out that way after college but is it easier to get in with the "who you know" vs. trying to work your way up?

We have 2 Broncos representing us in class 3 this year. It will be our 4th year at the Baja 1000.

Nate and John Williams, Johnny G and Shannon Campbell are racing Donahoe's FJ Cruiser. You can see the FJ in the BFG Booth at Sema. Should be alot of fun!

Cool - I've been out of competition since selling the truck, but couldn't pass up this beer bet. My son may ride with me - he was so young during the truck days he doesn't remember dad racing. Great to hear from you - I still see Jeff on occasion - even made him some axles a few years ago.
