ok, im doin the 52" swap, but im making my own front hangers, probly a 2x4" box tubing to drop it down just little ive been lookin at the spot where i need to put it, and its exactly where the frame bends up. i dont want to put part of it on the flat part of the frame and have some hang over where the bend is. i thought of using a little taller box and takin like an inch or so out of the frame where the box goes, for strength and to make it all flat, but i f i do that ill have to take some out of the body mount by the front hanger. whose done this setup? what the hell did you do to mount it? also, how far is to far to move the front axle foward? i dont want it to look like ass, and im gonna run crossover so i dont wanna fuckup the steering geometry. thanks

exactly how are you figuring out where to place the hanger?
cuz you have to factor in longer shackles.

have you looked at the 52 spring swap write up on ck5?
i'm pretty sure he moved the shackle hanger back a bunch of inches.
maybe that's all you need to do?

i'm using a 2" drop hanger from sky, but i have a 1970 k10.

On the CK5 write up , He moved the shackle forward a couple of inches for better angle. The shackle would have been straight down left in the stock position.

i was talkin bout the front hanger for the front springs, where it mounts to the frame. i already have my shackles and shackle hangers. no problems there, just at the front of the frame. im runnin some hangers on 2"x4" box tubing for pinion angle and a little bit of lift. my problem is the front of the frame has a kickup about where my 2"x4" box is gonna sit. this will make it so that not all of the box will sit flat with the frame. im planning on moving the hanger foward 5" so the axle will move foward 2". anybody ever ran into this problem?
