: 4000lb winch, enough for the zook?

i can get a 4000lb winch for cheap. im wondering if its enough pull for the zook, and just the zook. ill get a 6000 later, but i can get this one now.

You should be fine with a 4k winch, especially for just a short time. It will be more than enough to pull your Zuk. You don't have to worry about winching others out because Zuks are too light to be an anchor! My friend has been running a 5k winch on his Cruiser (more than 2x the weight of a Sami), and it works for him, though it stalls sometimes.

I say no, esp. in mud. #6000 would be waaay better. I have an #8k on mine, cause I got a deal on it, and I'm always pulling heavy ass J@@ps out with it:D

He said it was just until he picked up a 6k and that he was only pulling the Zuk. I'd rather have an 8k than a 4k, but I'd rather have a 4k than NOTHING.

any winch is better than no winch,but my friend has an m-8000 on his sammi.and he has stalled it straight lining in mud...

thanks for the info. i wont be doing any major mud, i like rocks. so i should have enough pull to scrape over a rock then right? i hope, cause its going on tommorow.

It will do fine to get you out of the wet grass, but that's about it.

It will get you over the curb at the mall you poser!

The 4k will do what you need it for until you get the 6k. Dont forget that it only has like 50' of cable so it will have to be a short pull to snatch it. But hell at the mall there should be plenty of light posts or tacomas to anchor to.

what the heck.. once ya get the 6k, then you could put it in the rear! that way you can brag to people at the mall that you can pull both ways..

if you use a snatch block it will effectively double your line pull. Not going to be great over a long distance but for simple unstucks the 4000 with the snatch block should be fine
