I'm swapping a 2003 4.0L in my CJ5 instead of the old and tired 4.2L. I'm currently running T18A with 3.15:1 Dana 20 and A&A output behind it. Anyone made that kinda swap?? What clutch / flywheel / clutch bearing starter / CPS / bellhousing did you use??

Yup, I put a 89 4.0 into my 75. The 4.0 will bolt right up to your current 4.2 bellhousing. You will need a 4.0 flywheel or flexplate for that year 4.0, there are differences. Otherwise just use your standard 4.2 clutch components. My 4.0 starter bolted up to my old bellhousing. I had Novak modify the bellhousing for the CPS. I wish I had just bought the front mount CPS mount from hesco or whomever made it. It would be easier to change!:(
I must admit I don't know if the crankshaft pilot bearing dimension is different or not. I stroked mine so I kept my old crank. Might want to measure before you bolt it in or do some research. The yahoo 4.0 strokers list is a good resource.

Thanks for the answers. I don't mind to much about the pilot bearing or bushing. I'll order one from a bearing dealer if needed or worst case scenario I'll make one out of oil lite. I think I'll go that way with the CPS, I'll buy the CPS relocation kit from eighter advance adapters or hesco. I got my hands on a 2005 TJ 4.OL for the price of a pound of butter at Walmart. I've got a cam shaft kit from comp cams for it and i'm planning on adding a 62mm throttle body with a borla header to get everything breathing allright.
