What dana 300 do you have?
The IH TX pattern or the round pattern?

build up a 700r4, low first gear and an overdrive. if you want brute strength go for a turbo 400. the 400 is a 2.48 firt gear, the th350 is a 2.56 first, and the 700r4 is like 3.something

If you have the money I would go 700r4 then adapt a JEEP 300 to that because they are way easier to find than the IH 300.

700R4 ~ from what I remember, the first gear is 3.01 and the 4th is .7 (overdrive). With a high-stall converter, that 3:1 will feel like a 6:1

I'm picking up a blazer with a TBI350/700R4 and plan on running either a Jeep D300 or a Stak

IIRC, a jeep 300 has the same bolt pattern as an np205/208 so if you can find a junkyard 700r4 to 205 adapter and found some way to adapt the shaft you'd be set for cheap. I know that there new input shafts for 32spline th400s but I don't know about 350's or 700r4's.

700R4 3.06:1 1st and 0.7 5th good trans. but kind of expensive.
Th350 strong and cheap

Just make sure its a "K" case (4WD). If not, it can get ugly.
