I just recieved a new set of leaf springs for my 77 bronco. My old springs on the truck are measuring 47 1/2" with weight on them. The new springs are measuring 43". Does anyone know what the spring eye to eye length should be or are these probally just right and i am freaking out for no reason at all.

HA HA HA!

Have fun putting them on! Lemme guess: you had to have that 5-1/2" lift, huh?:flipoff2:

I had to solicit the help of a buddy that's twice my size, and we still had to resort to using the great big ratchet strap to pull it in to the hanger. It was easier to connect it to the shackle first.

At rest, your stock springs should measure 46-47" eye to eye.

As Gummi stated, install the shackle to the spring and then to the hanger. I put a ratchet strap on around the front eye and wrapped the other end around the front axle tube. Then ratchet it up into place and slip the bolt through. Done!

Got a winch? Easier than a ratchet strap;)
