I have an AGR chevy style steering pump, stock cherokee steering box and a 4"x8" cooler on the low pressure side. I was running royal purple max EZ steering fluid for a couple years and dumped a lof it in a flop, replace the fluid with whatever was available. This was about 6 months ago. Lately my steering has been maoning after it warms up and is hard to impossible to steer. I drained the fluid by pumping it out and replace it with cheap steering fluid about a month ago, now 1/2 the time the steering binds up and the pump moans. I have a lockright in the front. The steering used to be 1 finger easy.
Any suggestions on what may be causing this?? What goes bad in power steering pumps?? Is there a rebuild kit??
Any suggestions are greatly apreciated.

Replace the pump and call matt at west texas offroad and put one of his hydro-assist set-ups on!

If I had the cash and thought I needed hydro assist to turn 33's I would call Matt in heart beat but what I need is an answer to my question.
What goes bad in a p style saginaw pump that causes it to be weak and moan??
