Trying to get my clutch to work, but I can't get the return spring to pull back against the hydraulic pressure. I'm trying to get the fork to pull the T/O bearing off the PP diaphram a little. Is it normal for hydo pressure to keep the TO bearing tight against the PP? This doesn't seem right to me. I'm using a GM 151 Jeep master/slave. I tried a different slave..same result....

How tight is tight?
They are supposed to be "self adjusting".
And, yes, you are wise to install a stiff return spring.
Really though, it only takes about 1/16" rattle and the return spring to keep your TOB off the fingers ...
Hope your's works ... and you are worrying for nut'in ... :)

It's tight enough that I can't force the slave plunger back at all. That seems tooooo tight.....or normal:confused:

My Girling setup is VERY hard to manually push.
So much so that I usually open the bleeder valve to plunge the slave's pushrod to help to re-install.
Try it out around on your street or driveway before you worry yourself too much. Have you?
I know it doesn't feel right as opposed to a mechanical linkage, but really all you need is that 1/16" rattle at full clutch grab to keep the TO bearing from racing.
If your clutch is slipping you'll soon know ... and smell it ...
And you'll probably be able to feel and hear a racing bearing.
I hope I'm right in your case, at least ... good luck.

Thanks for the repy Jaffer. No, I haven't run it yet. Maybe I'm just chasing a ghost. Is the 1/16" play your refering to up and down or front to back on the arm? I'm able to wiggle mine up and down slightly but not front to back.
