How and where do I check the fluid levels in my transmission and transfer case? It's a '93 wrangler with ax-15 and whatever the stock tcase is, a np231 I think? What kind of fluids do I put in? Thanks.

Have you checked the owner's manual?

Spend $15 on a Haynes manual at your local auto parts store. Read it. Climb under your Jeep and match up the pretty pictures and words with what you see.

If you can find one on eBay, a Factory Service Manual (FSM) will pay for itself a 100 times over. If you can't get a FSM, the Haynes manual will work. If you have never changed these fluids, or if you just purchased this Jeep, it's time to change these fluids. The transmission will require gear oil, and the TC will require automatic transmission fluid (Dextron/Meron III)...... consult your FSM to confirm. On the transmission, be sure to remove the fill plug BEFORE you remove the drain plug. Probably not a bad idea to do same on TC.

I bought the jeep about 2 months ago and just got done putting it back together. It sat for a long time before I bought it so I'd like to change all the fluids but I didn't get an owners manual with it.

Go on eBay and see if you can find a FSM. This is a big book, like a phone book, very detailed information that is used by dealers and other service people. The FSM for my TJ cost about $60.00 but has been worth every penny I paid for it.
