: Back from Tellico (beat to death)
dirtrod 05-05-2002, 09:36 AM We got home last night, (1 day earlier than planned) and my ass is wore-out from 13 straight days of thrashing the rig. We had torrential downpours on a regular basis, which makes for lots of fun, and the D-60 front held up great without breakage, I never had to back off for fear of carnage. : )
The lower part of trail 2 is still a great run. We pulled cable 5 times in tellico, once on the helo-pad, and 4 times on lower 2 : )
(need more diff. clearance). Anyway... we ran it all, rain and shine, day-in/day-out, and had a great time.
No real carnage to report... I replaced a squeeky u-joint, I had to put a new seal in a shock, it looks like a balljoint is getting loose, but thats it. : )
We got to Jellico in time to see badassjeepguy (about 2 seconds before he broke) , and we hung around Jellico until sunday morn. , I'm not a good spectator, and I'm too lazy to compete, so we moved on and hit some trails on the way to tellico.
I rode with "willy" in tellico and checked out his new cab truck, it's a nice rig...
I'm beat, later...

It has been rearranged some at the top, but it is still tough. The rock that made so hard before is gone or broken off, so they might have tried to blast it... This is the first time I have had to pull cable on lower 2 since it opened. What is left is not a real big ledge, but the placement of the rocks makes it hard to get a good run at it, and if you don't get a run, you need some big tires to straddle the middle of the line. I got hung-up w/ 4 tires off the ground 3 times, and the last time I had 1 rock grab the rear pig and I couldn't get free. I only got thru to the top 1 time w/out the winch.
Getting to the bad spot is getting tough also, several big trucks w/ 44" tires had to winch just to get to the bad spot. I was able to do the "point and squirt" thing without much trouble, but my diff. covers took some big hits.
patooyee 05-05-2002, 03:46 PM Cool. Thanks for the update. Sounds like it is still just as tough, if not more so, than before. :bounce2:
