I have a 77 blazer and the fuel tank is in the factory location. I had to cut the exhaust at the muffler to remove the tank because the moron who built it did so in a way that would not allow the removal of the tank. Anyway, the exhaust opening is about twenty ( 20 ) inches from the fuel tank. My concern is the heat from the exhaust. Could it cause a ! BOOM ! affect if i start the blazer and drive it. The filler neck and all that crap is on the top of the tank and there is a 2-3 inch gap about the length of the tank that would allow heat and exhaust fumes to reach the filler neck area. Please help. I want to drive this bitch and all the muffler shops here are friggin closed on sat. Thanks!
