Can anyone explain to me the front dana 60 dually axle? I heard on por that it will allow you to run the humvee wheels with 7" backspacing since it has a dually spacer? Can someone please explain this to me. Thanks!

simple.....the Dually 60 "hub" has a "offset" that makes the axle wider than the normal 60. The humvee rims have around a 7in. BS on the rim....so they fit just right on the dually hub without making it WIDE.....

But doesn't the front hubs stick out past the wheel/ tire?

end of hub to wms is 3/4" so no it doesn't stick way out.

here is a picture of the dually hub so you can see where the flange is..:D
so to convert them they just machine off the wheel mount flange and run longer bolts through the rotor mount ears to act as studs?
or is there more to it?

There's a little more to it, but essentially uou are correct.

so spill it.
looks as though the hub body between the 2 flanges has to be trued up as well.
what else?

that is a good pic of how to do it..machine the outer ring off, redrill the holes where the rotor bolted to the bearing hub to fit the lug studs and thats it jsut like in the picture.:D

Hey, that's my d60! :D

still dont see the 'little more to it'
seems that pretty much sums it up
the hub body hasnt been worked on at all, no hub-centric
did you go with studs or throughbolts?
I think I would used bolts

The lug studs are 9/16 fine thread, and the rotor bolts are 9/16 coarse thread. (Assuming chevy) good luck re-tapping them to fine thread. that's why they are generally drilled over for press in studs. I generally do mine hub centric, but you abviously don't have to.

Does the redrilled hole have to be tapered in any way whatsoever??? Or just drill it to the size of the stud? I havent drilled yet cause Im just not sure about that part.

Just drill it to the size of the part of the stud that will go through it. It needs to be a pressed fitting, and you'll probably need to use lug nuts to pull it all the way through.
