What is air conditioning?

As a newby I will explain it I guess. It is simply using a gas that gets compressed in the ac compressor and then is allowed to expand in the heater core area of a truck, letting the gas expand cools it and this cools the air. The ac compressor heats the gas as it compresses and this is why there is a thingy in front of the radiator.

It is extra weight for those after luxury or who need it for health or age reasons. I remove it in most of my stuff, keep it in my one good vehicle though.

run a search and learn all the right names if you wish. Also learn different refrigerants.

its a free motor driven air compressor that will fill my 7 and 1/2 gallon tank to 150 psi in around 30 seconds. Awesome for impact wrench or reseating beads.
