ok, I really like the xj, but there are places I want to go that it isn't going to go, all that stamped tin will come appart,

so, do I go light weight, run 44's, 37 or smaller tire, cool sheit alloy shafts and axle joints, 4.3 vortec, t350 or 700r4, and atlas, or do I add a little weight and do 60's, a tpi / tb 350.

I plan on sticking this in a yj, that may end up only the cowl grill, and hood of the yj, I was thinking I'd run coilovers in the front and rear leafs, wheel base of 103.

anyone know what the weight of a chevy 350 and 4.3 are, and on the ford side, a 5.0 and 4.6?

I would let your tire size dictate your axles, or your wallet. I would go ahead and drop in a V-8 because after all it is a recreational vehicle so it should be fun!

I say your coil - leaf setup will be GOLD!!

maybe just set it up for 38 - 42's and run between whatever feels right...

Rumor has it that BFG is going to make their comp tires in just about everysize all the way up to 44's. they should be the shit on hte rocks...

rig sounds good and in fact is pretty much what I am building - (except might have to stick with leaf fronts for now) and BTW I think the firewall from the YJ tub won't be to heavy..and you can strip the dash -under all the plastic is a CJ type metal dash..

good luck!
