first off i know if one out boards the front springs on a cj-7 one can get many more axles to fit.
but outher than the "fit" is there a advantage to doing this work?

does it inprove the on road handling? off road flex? etc?

OK, I've never done it my self ... I'm still running Narrow Track, but without getting lost in the Geometry .... yes it's a great upgrade.
But the main thing is your dumping that Dana 30 for a 44 or 60 .... right?
With that comes more strength for larger tires, lower gears .... and that's what your looking for .... right?
Good Luck

It greatly helps with on road stability because the springs are farther apart. So the tires have less leverage on the springs. Depending on the axle your gonna use you might have some tire rub on the springs when turning. You can also ditch the sway bar all together, no need for it all once the springs are outborded and providing the extra stability. I love it and will never go narrow again.

The main reason is to swap in fullwidth axles without narrowing them in front. The rear is not necesary.Just move the perches.

what is a sway bar:barf: i have not had one on the jeep in many a year.
a bit of fun going down a twisty road getting to the trail.

so the only reason other than the fit for a wider track is just a bit more stable on road ride?

never had a problem with the d30, so only upgrading for a wider track, but a
custom front axle in the works, (hp 44 or a hp609) if the only good is a more stable "on road" then might as well keep the springs in the stock spacing. = more flex due to more leverage.

Agreed, with the addition of increased stability off road, especially when sidehilling. FWIW the difference is HUGE.

Depending on the axle your gonna use you might have some tire rub on the springs when turning.

I went to 63" wms to wms with 40's and 4.75" backspace and have no rubbing at all. Actually I have an inch+ left, so you could probably go 60" or so and not have rubbing problems, esp with less backspace (i.e. 37's with 3.75" backspace).

I used BTF's kit, made the whole thing very clean and easy.

Just some thoughts...

The added stability is worth its weight in gold.
