I tried the search and couldn't find what I was looking for.....

Compare to stock YJ in a SOA app how would the waggy front spring s compare to the stock YJ's in height. Would it jack it up to the sky?

Then you didn't try hard enough because this question has been covered around 10 times in the past couple months.

What terms did you use in your search? i imagine SOA would net all kinds of results:rolleyes:

What I found is that it will net about 1.5" more than the YJ's. That would be with 6 pack leafs.

Just looking for confirmation......:flipoff2:

For reference, they (boneyard 7 leaf Waggy fronts) sit about the same as a 2" BDS YJ spring SOA (actually the Waggy's sit about 1/4" higher for me).

You should say that in your initial question and you'll avoid some hazing in the future;)

In reference to stock waggy packs-
You want the waggy 7 leafs if you can find them (from what the guys on here say), but 6 leaf packs should work also. they will net about 1.5" more arch than the stock YJ pack (from research on this board)

In reference to aftermarket waggy packs-
I run Rancho 44044 springs which are a 1" lift waggy pack with 6 leaves. These do net 2.5" over stock YJ on my rig (SOA). This would support the earlier mention of stock waggy's being 1.5" over YJ stock height.

44044's are 2.5" waggy fronts, I thought.

Thanks guys. So no matter how I slice it they'll be too tall:mad:

How about removing leafs from the 6 or 7 pack to TRY and keep the current height?

Just strap them on and they will sag some after a while.

The difference between stock YJ and stock waggy fronts SOA is gonna be about 2" That is THAT extreme.

I thought they were 1" but I could easily be mistaken;) Either way I mounted them up and they sat about 2.5" higher then stock 5 leaf yj's SOA on my Jeep.

Consequently it sits about 3" higher than 6" alcans SUA.

It is tall, I may lose my 2" BL now that I think about it:)

44044's are a 2.5" lift spring for waggy fronts.

This is why I don't want to be any higher in the rear:

44044's are a 2.5" lift spring for waggy fronts.

So if the difference between stock YJ and stock waggy springs is 2", and teh 44044's are 2.5" lift springs for the waggy, would using 44044's on a SOA YJ result in like 4.5" more lift that using stock YJ springs for the SOA?

I've been following a lot of the threads about this, but I'm getting confused now.

Well, yes and no! :D

I have seen stock waggy 7 leaf springs that are as flat as can be once mounted (they were wore out) and I had stock 7 leafs all the way around my YJ and had the same amount of lift as the 44044's. By using the stock waggy spring and the condition unknown you can't really compare them with exact height numbers.

Sorry to add to the confusion :flipoff2: All I can say is bolt them on and see!

Thanks Rockslut. After reading a lot of these threads, I imagine you must be pretty tired of fielding all these questions. I guess I'll find out for myself eventually.

Believe me i get TONS of e-mails and PM's regarding the elusive waggy front spring on YJ. I dont mind. It's just a remotely easy mod for a YJ. The waggy springs use 9/16 hardware too. YJ is 1/2" So new bolts and 9/16" drill bit may be required.

On my YJ 44044s came out to be about 2.5" taller in SOA than stock YJ.

I just resleeved the shackle bushings to use 1/2" hardware (on the shackle) like stock YJ. I was too lazy to drill out the shackles:D

Yes, that is probably the easiest way to do it. I just dont want any E-mails from people saying that their old bolts are now too loose in the 44044 springs :D

Good one :D

I'm still waiting for someone to say that their bushings are too narrow;) Two of my springs had the bushings reversed with the skinny ones on the shackle end, I didn't notice:D . After I put them on I was like WTF:confused: there is a hell of a lot of space in there. then I had to pull the damn springs and put those damn skinny ones on the frame mounts

IF YOU BUY THESE SPRINGS MAKE SURE THE SKINNY BUSHING IS ON THE FRAME MOUNT BEFORE YOU MOUNT THEM (it's a time saver)
