While I'm running at a constant throttle speed anywhere inbetween 1200 to 2000 rpm's' my (92)Bronco studders. This is constant until I can get it above that 2000 rpm range. If I jump on it when it's at say 1500 it's slow to respond but then jumps in. If I keep the idle at 2100 or above it runs ok. When trying to go up any steep hills it's a studdering - stammering fool. This all started when i was going over Tioga Pass. I think it's in the T.P.S. but not positive any help would be appreciated, I have a mountain trip planned in july. :mad2:

I think TPS is a good possibility. Could even be as simple as plugs or cap/rotor. Or, torque converter shudder. Pull the codes.

well ya it could be a hole bunch off stuff.

1) check your plugs like stated above with all of your ingition for any visual defects of problems. example, if you ahve washed or power washed you motor your cap has most likely coroded, done it myself with a hose. just remove it and clean with sand paper.
2)your TPS could aslo be it, to check it just requires a 15 dollar repair book and a Volt meter. the book you can get at the local parts house as well the volt meter. the book will tell you what the TPS should range trough in volts when the car is on(K.O.E.O.) and there is a person steppig on the gas pedal slowly
3)could be a crappy injector, how many miles dose the bronco have? anything under 150k regular driving shouldn't be an issue.

it can't be that difficult because you didn't break anything RIGHT?, and so you only have spark and fuel delivery to check.

4) you can also check the injector pulse with the same volt meter.
5)check that your vacume hoses are all connected well and heck even buy a vacume guage, You WILL use it again. refer to book to see if it is within spec
6)check to see that your EGR is woking well, a bad EGR can mean a bad idle.
7)if you can get a friends bronco over and compare visually what is different, most of the time that will fix the mix up.

hope that helps!!

Thanks for the help. I'll try some of them. It's not shooting codes, I've4 replaced the cap, wires, plugs, fuel pump, & regulator. the injector pulse was in range but I haven't tryed the T.P.S. voltage sweep yet. thanks again.

well there are a few more things that you can check:
1)your coil cap and rotor
2)TFI(electronic vacume advance)
3)damit, the word has escaped me!!! uhh the thing that replaced your points

hope it works out for ya let us know what the problem was for future users!!

Thanks
