Damn am I stoked with this bike! It's killer(for my needs anyway).
This bike has plenty of power for my fat ass and even at 85MPH still has get up and go! I don't go much past that though as it needs a steering stabilizer. I did get it into a bit of a wobble yesterday on some grooved pavement. Not much fun. It seems to be getting about 60 miles/gallon too.:D
So yesterday I took a long ass ride from Santa Cruz, over to San Jose. Then out Quimby rd off of Capitol express way to Mt. Hamilton. Over Mt. Hamilton to the Junction Restaurant at the corner of Mines Rd, San Antonio Canyon rd and Del Puerto Canyon roads. Of course I had to stop for a nice cold $1.50 draft :smokin: then I went down Del Puerto Canyone to Patterson and I-5 for gas.
Side note: The Lick observatory on Mt. Hamilton is killer. There are like seven different telescopes up there. You can actually stop and take a tour of the big scope if you're so inclined. The thing is massive!!
I then went back up Del Puerto Canyon rd to Frank Raines OHV park. Paid the two bucks and proceeded to have a blast trying to climb some of the big hills. All I can say is the tires SUCK for climbing anything steep. If you've been to Frank Raines you know that the hills are steep and loose. So of course I try three of the step ass hills in the park only to get 3/4 of the way up and loose momentum! The hills were so steep that I ended up falling over and doing back flips back down the hill with the bike in hot persuit sliding down the hill after me. After 3 different attempts on three different hills I pretty much gave up on the steep hills. I need more agressive tires. Oh yea and some new plastics! :emb3: I also need a new right hand mirror, handle bar end and a clutch lever that isn't bent to hell. After washing the blood off my abrasions in the creek I headed up to the junction again for a killer burger, fries, and of course another one of those $1.50 draughts. Then it was off back out San Antonio Canyon to Mt. Hamilton, etc back home.
On the way home I got pulled over in San Jose. The cop says to me. "You know when you didn't yield to the pedestrians in the cross walk you got my attention(they were just starting to enter the cross walk), but when you went around the train guards:eek: I decided to pull you over!" So he read me the riot act and then let me go. I guess he felt sorry for me that the lady friend I had planned to meet at the junuction had to cancel and my bike was looking a bit dirty and some what tattered!?!
What a great day/ride!! Next ride is down to Big Sur and Hearst Castle along the coast! This is going to be a great summer.
Well anyway I love my new 'Zuki it's a great bike! :smokin:  :usa: :)
