: anybody still racing Kia Sportages in class 3?
fledgling666 11-15-2006, 06:44 AM well?
just curious. saw how well Darren Skilton and one or 2 others did with them in every desert race here in the US, including the one and only Baja 2000, and in the Paris-Dakar Rally and was just wondering why i haven't seen any new photos or seen any new listings for people running them in class 3. i was hoping to do the Baja 500 or something some day in a Sportage (not necessarily a brand loyalty thing, just that i like the design of the vehicle and think it handles the dirt very well at speed for being as underpowered as it is).
doubt it, but i'll ask: anyone else plan to run a Sportage?
tsm1mt 11-15-2006, 09:14 AM Last I heard, Skilton was looking to sell off the Class 3 Kias..

pretty sure he already sold off everything Sportage related, but the Sorento Trophy truck is still around. there were a few other people racing the Sportage though, AND, it just won so many races i figured it would be a good vehicle to use.

i'd love to race a Sportage in any one of the desert races, ah, well, someday.....
spalind 03-21-2007, 09:20 AM figured I'd bring this thread back from the dead seeing as both Class 3 Kia's and the Trophy Truck Kia just went up for sale...link and pics here:

maxyedor 03-21-2007, 02:26 PM Never thought I'd see a Kia and think "hey I want that", much less a 100k+ Kia, but there it is.
