Try to start my bike this morning and the starter soleniod went on it again. This the 3rd one in five years. I've got an 81 GL500. Has anybody else had problems like this? $60 a piece kinda hurts.

have you considered trying to retrofit a cheaper one onto it?
The one on my Polaris ATV looks a heck of a lot like one off of a lawn mower.
