I just aquired a 5.0 H.O. from a Mustang. I want to wring some more power out of it before I swap it in.
I've only done one other Ford motor, was a 390 Police Interceptor, ..................It didn't need much help.
I know Chevy's real well but I'm tired of those.
I'm thinking about heads, headers, cam and injection mods.
I don't know what heads, GT-40s ?
Intake options? injection help?
I'm awhare that the H.O. is good in stock form. But I can't help it, I always want more than stock. It's my drag race and pro-street background I guess.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Twisted Wedge heads gasket matched intake and headers. MSD ignition. Beef up stock fuel injection w/new injectors and throttlebody, or go big w/Holley projection (more tunable)
Stroked to 377ci. lumpity lump lump cam

Money is no option in my dreamland of ideas, I'd never put that in a wheeler, but even if it was in a minivan it would haul balls:usa:

Keep the SEFI on it. Go with GT40 intake, GT40 heads are also really good. Get some headers, MSD ignition, 26# injectors, Comp roller cam. You'll be good.

I have a non-roller 302 with SEFI, Edelbrock heads and the standard intake and the thing screams. Belive it or not, the thing that game me the most power was the SEFI. I think it was more efficiently giving the heads the fuel they needed.

Have fun!

this is all good if you want to spend a ton. buy the gt40p exploder heads. these thing are bad ass. or the word product cast iron. edelbrock intack if your rich, and 24lbs injectors,65mm t-body,and a 75mm mas air. this is a proven combo! it runs street cars in the 12s.also get the headers specific for the head swap. i think bbk makes them. because the spark plug has more angle and rub the header.
