This event is being held on state owned property that will one day (hopefully soon) be a multi-use ohv park. Currently, the property is closed, but it will be opened for this event. We need to get as many people to this event to help show the state that this area is needed, and it needs to open soon.
The property consist of 3500 acres. There are all kinds of trails there, from mild to wild. This is old coal mine ground, so it has lots of hills and valleys, but not alot of rock.
If you have any questions, pm me or contact either person on the flier.
Thanks!!
I've road my quad there a ton and love the place......But I have yet to see any good trails for my rig.
Anyway, I do plan on having a 28' gooseneck full of quads at the very least. See you there

Shawn, two years ago, hell six months ago, I would have agreed with you. But there has been alot work going on to get the trails open for this event. There is some good stuff there. Once it opens, there will be even better trails!!

Did you normally come in on a gravel road (1200S)? If so, I would recommend that way this trip with the 28' goose. The new entrance that is visible from I-64 might not be very trailer friendly.
Either way, I'm glad to hear you're coming down. Look me up. Red YJ with Fatboys Offroad stickers & 39" Pitbulls.
PUjeeper 11-22-2006, 09:14 PM I plan on attending with a few of the Indy 4 wheel parts crew

Yep, we always came in on 1200 only way I knew how to get there. Thanks for the advice Looks like I'll go 1200 this time to. I didn't know they made a new entrance, very cool. Anyway, It will be a white 2007 4 door dodge pulling the trailer. So if you see me, yell. :>D (I'm sure we'll hookup) Who knows I might get a wild hair and bring the jeep. That is if you guys will have rigs there too.
Shawn
twentyfootdaredevil 11-24-2006, 07:30 PM There should be plenty of rigs there to wheel with. If you have room for both bring both but I have more fun w/ the trucks.
twentyfootdaredevil 11-24-2006, 07:38 PM Syko if you bring your rig down ill be in a full bodied but beat all to hell 91 toyota w/ 39.5 TSLs look me up and well get you to the good trails. The new entrance off hwy 64 might actually be the better choice as we are working on better parking right now. Check back with this thread or send me a PM and I will have more info before the event.

Yeah, we'll have several well built rigs there. Whichever rig you bring, you won't be dissapointed!

So who's the main force for getting this place opened again? This place is about 45mins from the house. I'd love to see it back open and in full force...(basically how can I help?)
I really like opening new trails with the jeep and cutting new hills with the quad:D I have a few hills down there already:D I'd love to add a few trails to my resume...
twentyfootdaredevil 11-30-2006, 07:46 PM Well the main force is the state of Indiana. Our club Boonie Riders is working with an ATV club Lincoln Country Trailriders to open up as many trails as we can. We have been out there every weekend for about 13 wks opening up trails for the rigs. If you want to help send me an email twentyfootdaredevil@yahoo.com and Ill keep you informed as to whats going as far as when and howyou can help.
twentyfootdaredevil 11-30-2006, 07:49 PM Syko I will be working at the hwy 68 entrance witch is the best way for you to come in. My name is Josh ask for me when you get there and I can bring you up to speed on whats going on
redbaron 11-30-2006, 07:55 PM Well, currently a group called WCRD (http://www.wcrd.org/) (Warrick County Recreational Development) is trying to work with the DNR to make this a realitity. As with anything, nothing is set in stone.
Best thing I can tell you, there will be reps from the DNR there for the event, talk to them and see what they tell you. There will also be reps from WCRD, talk to them. My club, Tri State Jeepers (http://www.tristatejeepers.com/), are members of WCRD, and have been involved since the beginning in making this happen. I live 10 minutes from this property, I REALLY want to see it become a sure thing!
redbaron 11-30-2006, 08:01 PM Syko I will be working at the hwy 68 entrance witch is the best way for you to come in.
Josh, do you really think the 68 entrance will be the best for pulling the 28' trailer? I know you are working that gate, but what are they gonna do fro parking? I'll be coming in on the 1200 entrance.
twentyfootdaredevil 11-30-2006, 08:18 PM We have mowed a nice place to park rigs down by the 1300 intersection. It is really witchever way is closer for the person but if I was bringing in my toyhauler I would want to park at the 68 entrance
SPINY 12-02-2006, 04:16 PM I don't plate or insure my rig do I need to apply for an offroad registration or will they be able to offer them on site?
twentyfootdaredevil 12-02-2006, 09:03 PM it would be best to go ahead and register your rig.
twentyfootdaredevil 12-04-2006, 05:19 PM Guys forcast says sunny and close to 50 degrees on Saturday should be a god day for wheeling
My atv buddies are dropping like flies. So it looks like I might bring my rig and my quad. There may be a bronco with us as well. Bottom line, Dad and myself will 100% be there and who knows about the rest of the guys.
redbaron 12-12-2006, 05:19 PM Shawn,
Did you guys make it down? What did you think?
Yep we made it. Dad is a member of lincoln county trail riders and helped work the parking. I was on the quad more then in my jeep. I did use a few quad trails for jeep trails. It was fun little hill climbs but for the most part it was what I thought it would be. I talked to a guy loading a buggy when I was leaving. He said they found one good trail in the back but that was about it. So I guess I missed it. For the most part it was a bunch of jeep jamboree'ers taking pictures of every little bump they drive over. OK for some just not my cup of tea. I did look for you just didn't see ya.
redbaron 12-17-2006, 04:12 PM Yeah, if you'd found us, you'd been on the one good trail. We went there first thing, and it was alot of fun. The other trails were just as you described. We ran one other trail, and about half way thru it hit a major traffic jam. We got out and head out for the day.
