well with the old c6 behind the 351 i never felt it downshift when i was stepping on the brakes slowing down. with the c6 behind the 460 i can feel it downshift into the lower gear, i believe from the 3rd to the second around 25 mph or so is this normal? imn just not used to it it feels so diff than the other c6. i believe this one has a shift kit and maybe thats the diff. any ideas, am i just paraniod or used to the old tranny, what yah think
Sounds good to me. As long as it upshifts differently while speeding up(light vs heavy right foot) then I wouldn't worry. A good tight tranny will definetly down shift. and I remember feeling mine do it too.

my 77 f-250's c-6 never did untill it lost a vacaume line, then it was downshifting as i decelerated, was kinda cool, but not right.
But, if the vacume line for the modulator is disconected then the tranny will upshift 'like' it was WOT all the time regardless of the actuall throttle position 'cause it will have 0 in. of manifold vacume. thus thinking it is wide open all the time. this will create 1-2 shifts at around 30-40 mph and 2-3 shifts around 60-70 mph. this is when the govenor kicks in and overides the modulator. If it is upshifting fine then don't sweat the down shifts.

mine shifted a little higher on accel, but not much. MY vacaume leak wasnt the line to the tranny, it was another off the intake or carb, cant remember which, but it was fuckin with the tranny
shifts nice and smooth going up gears. it was just the down shift that i was worried about, mostly cause my old c6 didnt do it, or at least i didnt know it was doing it. this down shift will actually slow me down a little which is prolly a good thing, cause i wont be on the brakes as much
