Anybody running a MPFI kit yet??? Thoughts???

Whats the big benefit between MPFI & TBI????

Really giving some thought to buying one of the kits, just looking for people with first hand experience with it and seeing how well it works, how easy it is to install, etc.?!?!? Thanks in advance.

the big benefit of using an mpfi setup over a tbi setup would be that you can generally make more power with proper tuning with an mpfi kit. also with proper tuning you can make the engine run better overall, smoother, etc.

now there are some downsides, such as the tuning being more difficult and more in depth, not to mention taking longer. there is usually more wiring involved too, so the kits take a while longer to install usually.

Guess I should've specified a little better, I'm specifically looking at the MPFI kit from IH Only North - complete system with aluminum intake and distributor, etc.

Only a 4 or 5 of these kits have been sold since coming out with them earlier this year. Give me a call as I'd be glad to answer any of your questions regarding the TBI kits(which I also sell just don't have listed on the website) and MPFI.

Not running one at the moment, but IMHO one of the biggest benefits would be.... BOOST!

Bigger injectors, a 3-bar MAP, and a good way to seal the (pure air, no air/fuel mix) blower/turbo to the throttle body, or run it draw-through..

yes !!! most defenitly, that would resolve and simplafy so meany problems with gasolen and boost with thies motors, and plumbing would be a cake walk

Allows the factories to achieve lower emissions for the certification test they need to pass!!! Mainly at the lower rpm levels.
So yes it may idle smoother then a TBI.

Map sensors can be swapped between them and code rewritten...

I'm telling ya ~ I've got to build/sell a Jeep to do it, but you can bet the MPFI is on my list of must-haves for the next IH project.

AFI has run the MPFI on a lot of other makes prior to the RPT intake being introduced. The power and fuel mileage is always better with MPFI over TBI. Just a better design and better ECM.

Fuel, Spark and extra driver that can be an extra injector mounted in the intake during boost. Works with Nitrous too.

The SMT7 includes a wide band O2 sensor. Lot's of information can be had on these including the software if you join the forums.

Would it eliminate air fuel mixture problems at high altitudes and angle flooding problems?Thats what im looking at it for,to keep the engine running good.

yea any fule injection does that.


also propane does too for alot less $$$ to convert and fill
