My roommate has a house just north of Parks and we have another friend that lives halfway between Kingman and Flag. I'm gonna be out that way for a week or so this summer if there are some good trails I'll try and trailer the 40 out.

There are many worthy trails here in AZ garanteed not to disappoint!!!

Martinez, Jackhandle, Axle Alley, Rockerpanel Pass, Highway To Hell, WoodPecker Canyon, Terminator.

Although I personnally haven't run all these trails, I know what they can do to the unsuspecting traveler.

LOTS of people in AZ willing to show you around, Just post to AZ wheelers for help or Directions/Links to trails.
There are alot of trail write ups from the many clubs here in AZ.

If in the middle of summer just be ready for the heat, good time to hibernate.

Listen to the man. AZ is awesome. Well, all I can speak for is Florence Junction that's just outside of Phoenix. If it helps make up your mind, I'm planning on taking my junk out there hopefully this fall.

I haven't heard of any worth while trails up north. I am taking rockcrawling. There are tons of 1st class runs around Phoenix though. I would be happy to show you around. If you got the right stuff of course.:D

Isn't there a trail called Smasher or Skull Crusher or something up north? I think Smasher is a 2-day ordeal......:D

I really enjoy wheelin' at the Cinders not for technical trails, but for the scenary and to get away from the summer heat in Phoenix. Unless you have a vehicle built more for dunes you will be limited in what you can run there.

Part of the fun though is seeing just what you can do without paddle tires and mega horsepower. It's a great place to spend a day or two exploring some scenic trails. The OHV area is right behind Sunset Crater which is where the astronauts practiced with the lunar rover back in the '70s.

It's outside of Payson. I don't know of anything challenging around Flag though.

Let me know when you're heading out Syko, that would be cool. I have 77 FJ 40 ARBs front and rear, 4.88s and 35s will that do? It's gonna start getting a little warm around Phoenix soon isn't it? BTW isn't there some wheeling to be done around Lake Powell (I hope that's the right lake, I always confuse that one and the one near Vegas)? How far is that from Flag?

IM thinking of leading a trip to Smasher Canyon the end of this month...its near Cotton wood......pretty nice trail....I drove it several years ago and only did the bottom half.....its a narrow wash so every rain changes it...it should be fun!....I will post when Im gonna lead it

LOL yea it'll do:D......I'll let you know. It will more then likely be this fall.*still in the planning stage*:D I don't think I or my jeep would like the 125* days in the summer. I can't answer you about Lake Powell. The only reason I know what I know about Phoenix is my buddy Rob lives there and I have been there once. If I remember right I think Rob said Flagstaff was a 4-5hr drive *I think*

You must drive slow :D Phoenix is about 120 miles from Flag and the speed limit is 75. It shouldn't take more than 2 hours even with a pit stop at Camp Verde for some DQ.
