So I've completly rebuilt my tranny tunnel. I want to get some of that black seam sealer that comes factory in vehicle floors on there seams. I dont think that its just black rtv, but I'll use that if that's what I need. Ideas on where to get this stuff.

I would just visit one of the local body shops in your area and ask them:D

Urethane Sealant/Adhesive. I don't know if it's cheaper or not but it's more flexable than the seam sealer. That seam sealer stuff is like plaster.

Urethane is what I used.

Don't use any silicone baised products as the vinegar (Base Acid) will corrode the steel faster. You'll never get paint to stick. This is what I was told by a body man.

As stated above-any decent body shop will have it-just ask for seam sealer-they should know what you are talking about.

I used a rubberized spray on coating, it worked pretty well

Go to an automotive paint supply shop. All sorts of OEM foams, sealers, glues and assorted gunkey shit.

I really like Eastwood products. Very big in Automotive restoration products, tools, supplies, etc...

Go to http://www.eastwoodco.com/

Type in "seam sealer" in the search bar and review the products that appear.
