: Coupons, Disconts anybody got some for Welders-Direct?
welndmn 05-07-2002, 09:29 AM Well its time to get a new welder
I want the miller 175 so far welders-direct has it cheapest for 635 and a cart for 50 bucks, anybody have anything else to help me get the price down? There used to be a free cart offer i belive?
Monkeyboy 05-07-2002, 10:16 AM So when you get this thing I'll let you keep it at myhouse and in exchange I'll let you come over and use my bender :flipoff2:
welndmn 05-07-2002, 11:02 AM As soon as i get a coupon or something for it i will order it!
maybe i just be cheap for 3-4 months no cart and run on Flux wire until i can afford a cart and and bottle
But I am dying not having my own welder anymore, now that my fried got a full time job, he never lets he come over and weld, ohh well all good things must end one day
ouibus 05-07-2002, 11:06 AM Mark, a few months ago they had that free cart deal. My family bought the Miller 175 for my dad with that deal. To my knowledge, they are not offering it anymore. I wish they were still doing that, but who knows if they will bring it back. I don't have any coupons for welders-direct, but I wish that I did. If you do come across any, let us know.
jeepnmatt 05-07-2002, 11:09 AM buy the welder and build a cart to learn how to use it. building the cart is good practice and the most expensive part is the wheels. matt
Flatty 05-07-2002, 11:34 AM I just got myself the Miller 210 last week. I gotta say WOW, what a step up from the 172 I had. If you can afford it, splurge and get the nicer one. I paid 1300 for everything with a 30 lb spool of wire, some anti splatter spray, some new lenses,... Came with a cartt, and all set up for the spool gun, just gotta buy that.
Dimtri
Monkeyboy 05-07-2002, 11:43 AM Yah build a cart.
paniolo 05-07-2002, 12:40 PM Call them on the phone and ask them if they can include the cart...worst that can happen is they say "no"
:flipoff2:

OMG Dimtiri, I can't belive you got a 210!, i had a 185, and mostly use the 185, I have used the 175 once and saw your 172 in use and really liked it,
The 185 kicked ass, i want to see the 210

If you get one without a fawking cart bring your lazy ass out to my place with some tubing and I will cut bend and weld a cart for your lazy ass while you drink beer out of the fridge you were supposed to buy from me :flipoff2:
I'll do all the work just make sure you keep me supplied with a cold beer at all times.
I finish beer you retrieve a fresh one for me out of the fridge.
welndmn 05-08-2002, 09:46 AM MM, I want to build a cart out of round tube though (must use your bender) :D

It will be made out of round tubing you Dildo. :flipoff2:
Just get the damn welder and some tubing.
Let me know what diameter tubing you get and I can arrange to have the proper die at my house.
I neet to buy a 1.5" die anyway. I already have a 2" die.
So get after it numbnuts, pull out that credit card visit that website pick up the phone and order the damn thing.
I know you need this kind of ass kicking to get you off your lazy ass to order it.
:flipoff2:
I'll buy some wine coolers so you have something to drink while I drink  and make that cart.
junger 05-08-2002, 10:55 AM Guys... got a Miller stick and now I need a MIG for some cage work... can't afford the 210 but is it worth it to move up to the 175 from the 135. I'm thinking, though, it'd be nice to take the 135 over to a friends since its 110... anyone move from a 135 to a 175?
Thanx.
-Josh
Flatty 05-08-2002, 11:07 AM I moved from a 135 to a 172. It was NICE to say the least, but the 172 still coud not do some of the stuff I wanted. I say splurge and get the good one. Save up another 400 and go crazy.
Marc, Cruise on by and check it out anytime you want, just let me know beforehand so that I will be there. Should get my bender back in a few weeks, so we can bend up that piece you want on there. Also, I want to build some sliders, and I saw yours. Gotta figure out how to build those. Just tell me what to get, and I will have everything ready to cut and weld.
Dimitri
welndmn 05-08-2002, 11:12 AM Yeah thanks Todd, thats what i need.
I will place my order on Friday :D (swpiey swipey, credit card debt is fun!)
I used a 135 for a lot of small things, but it was straing to do 3/16 and 1/4
the 175 seems to be a good medium for me, its not the bad dude out there, but it should work well, besides i know Dimtri has the 210, he can all my heavy stuff now :D
Either that or i can bust out my Stick welder, but then i have to learn how to weld with it again, i find the stick welders main use for me is to sit in the corner and collect dust
