While the rumor mill seems to be slowing down, I wanted to give a big thanks to Eric and co driver (i bet i asked his name 50 times and i still can't remember) for stopping at mile 785 for me. It was a GREAT feeling to have somebody i knew stay with us tell help arrived. You guys are my heroes and the definition of GREAT competitors.

Here's the quick just of it, i just finished my 250 mile leg and did a driver change with Kenny "tried to kill me" Bartram at Loreto. 12 miles into his stretch with me co driving we came to a series of switch backs by the mission. We had one last 180 turn left at the top and he went a little to wide and slipped a front tire over the edge, I counted 3 hard rolls before i hit a rock face with my helmet which cracked in two and then woke up when we made impact at the bottom. I had no feeling in my arms and couldn't unbuckle myself with fuel running everywhere, Kenny got me out and we climbed 10 minutes back to the top of the canyon. This cliff side was easily 300 ft. We definately had someone looking out for us on this one.

I've just got back to the states and heading to the hopital to get checked out. Thanks again to everyone that was praying that night and i have discovered the one that looks out for us...

The Alloy USA crew is absolutely top notch, and I'm glad they found you! You're a lucky SOB, you wanker! - Are you going to be well enough to run Supercrawl???

Glad to hear you are still in one piece. Best of luck as you recover. I can say that the Baja 1000 is serious business. I think the co-drivers name was Steve. He was in the car because our co-driver from that stretch hurt his ankle pretty bad and headed north. I really need to thank hippie John and A.J. from the Shaffer crew for essentially chasing #1702 for the first 230 miles. Thanks a lot guys! Congratulations to the Pirate 4x4 team. Great job!

Good Job to the 1702 truck. The Beer payoff is of little importance next to making sure people are ok. I am glad to hear that everyone is ok after the wreck.

It should be duly noted that Team Alloy made good on the Beer bet and drove 5 hours from Loreto (where they were staying in pimp daddy suites) to La Paz where they stayed in our flea bag hotel where we ran up a $600+ bar tab on the Alloy USA American Express. :D

Ron and Eric continue to surprise me. Good deads such as this don't go un-noticed.

Tracy, hope you check out and look foward to seeing you back in the drivers seat. Someone was watching out for you two..

Tracy,

Glad to hear you are doing well. I was a bit worried about you when I saw your damaged helmet down in the ravine. That was a nasty wreck. I've seen people killed from alot less. Hopefully I'll see you out there next year under better circumstances.

Tracy,
Heard about you going over cliff in BC3 on the radio. Did not sound good. Glad you guys are okay and that someone from PBB was around to help you out.

Glad you guys were ok! I think that is my biggest fear, sittng in a car with leaking fuel and you can not get out. Just waiting for the fire to start!

So after all this are you going to stick to what your good at? DRIVING!

i don't think i'll be co driving any time soon!!!!

As for supercrawl, i hope i make it. Still really stiff and quite a few pinched nerves in my neck and back. My heads just as screwed as before.

Hope everyone made it back out of baja safely and thanks for all the calls and support.

In the days of fast classed punting slow drivers off course and such because they don't have the patience to give it a few seconds for the driver to realize that there is someone behind them...it is good to hear some people are willing to throw away the whole race to help out a fellow racer.:cool2:

Glad to hear your OK, that rocks they stayed to help you.

I know they didn't do it for the business, but I sure as hell will give guys like that my money first.

I can't begin to explain the emotional roller coaster that goes on durring this intense event.
To hear Tracy was hurt and not knowing how bad was the ultimate tug of war of emotions right as we were celebrating our win.
Thinking that could have been us off the same cliff. Then to hear that another rockcrawler, our competitor, stopped their race to stay with our buddy that made me feel good.
Finally relief when I saw Tracy with my own eyes in La Paz, no more rumor mill he was ok!
Party time! Then the same class act Alloy USA team shows up to make good on their bet. 10 hours round trip, out of there way, on crappy road to buy us beer... alot of beer.
Stand up guys!

I'm so proud of everyone involved, survival, teamwork, common sence, and doing what is just plain right. They say you can't find those characteristics in people these days...
I say they need to look at a racer.
